When a church member is trapped in sin or unable to embrace forgiveness, leaders must respond with Christlike balance—truth wrapped in grace. The goal is always restoration, not condemnation. Scripture guides clearly: “Restore them gently†(Galatians 6:1). This requires humility—remembering we too are vulnerable to temptation. Leaders must listen with compassion, pray with sincerity, and avoid any spirit of judgment or superiority. Patience is essential. Repentance is often a process. Like the father in the parable of the lost son (Luke 15), we must watch and wait, ready to embrace when there is turning. Teach truth gently, as 2 Timothy 2:24-25 urges, trusting God to grant repentance. The church is a hospital for the broken. Leaders are healers, not judges. By reflecting God’s heart—holy yet merciful—they guide souls from shame to freedom, and from isolation to restoration..
